Abstract:

Ventricular assist miniscule pump is used widely to support heart function and blood flow in people who have weakened hearts. However, the rotating continuously artificial heart pump running at high rotating speed would damage the blood cells and cause hemolysis. To solve this problem, a novel ventricular assist miniscule nutation pump based on nutation principle was proposed in this paper. The researches on working principle, structure design, manufacturing, assembling and experiment are proceeded for the proposed pump. The experimental results under same rotating speed and different output pressure were obtained and discussed. This novel nutation pump had successfully reduced the speed of rotating parts under the premise of necessary flow rate without increasing the pump volume and weakened the damage to blood cells.
