Abstract:

When tunnel passes through fracture zone in an orthogonal manner, the embedded depth plays a crucial role in seismic response of tunnel. This article, by numerical simulation, respectively calculates the speed and acceleration as well as the scope of plastic zone on key points of tunnel lining structure and also makes the comparison when the embedded depth is respectively 2D, 5D and 8D and when the surrounding rock grade is Grade IV and the width of fault fracture zone is 10 m. The study shows that, when the embedded depth is 8D, the dynamic response of tunnel is respectively smaller, and the influence of fault fracture zone is less; when the embedded depth is 2D, the dynamic response of tunnels through fault fracture zone is significantly greater than that without fault fracture zone, and the lining structure is dominated by shear fracture. © 2016 Taylor & Francis Group, London.
