Abstract:
In order to guarantee the safety of self-compacting high-strength concrete frames in earthquake, experiments on two single-story and single-span frames were carried out to study their earthquake resistance behavior. The MTS loading system was used to put the two frames under quasi-static loads. And the concrete strength, reinforcement and size of the frames are the same. One of the frames is made of self-compacting high-strength concrete, and the other is made of normal high-strength concrete. Crack developing, failure process, loading-displacement hysteretic curve of the structure and strains of steel bars and concrete are investigated for both frames. Suggestions on engineering application of self-compacting concrete frames are made following the analysis of the earthquake resistance behavior of self-compacting concrete frames.
