Abstract:
Tension tests of 3004 aluminum alloy were carried out in a range of strain rates from 5.56 × 10-5 s-1 to 5.56 × 10-3 s-1 and temperatures from 223 K to 773 K. The micromechanism of dynamic strain aging (DSA) of the materials was studied by calculation activation energy, internal friction and microstructure. The results show that there is internal friction temperature peak. The dislocation in the specimen forms a typical tangle structure and the existence of Mg element in that location is observed after dynamic strain aging. The phenomenon of DSA of the 3004 aluminum alloy is controlled by the interaction between Mg solute atom atmosphere and the moving dislocation.
