Abstract:
The processes of alkaline anodic oxidizing to prepare oxide films on Mg-Mn alloy were studied. The morphologies, surface phases, corrosion resistances, thickness and hardness of the films were analyzed by SEM, XRD, electrochemistry system and micro-hardness test respectively. The results indicate that the oxide conversion films are composed of MgO2 and Mg2MnO4. The films show irregular porous structure, whose aperture are much larger than those anodized on Al alloy. Major properties of Mg-Mn alloy treated by alkaline anodic oxidizing are improved obviously.
