Abstract:
Manufacturing companies rapid response to market changes requires rapid reconfiguration of their manufacturing process to match market demand. The product reconfiguration model and the generation of the reconfiguration sequence are key tasks in the reconfiguration process. The assembly and disassembly of various products were analyzed to develop an effective Petri net based method to describe the structure of reconfigurable products and to represent the reconfiguration of interfaces. A sequence generating algorithm was developed which analyzes the economics of the reconfiguration cost matrix to search for the best reconfiguration path. The classic driver struts of a reconfigurable parallel machine were analyzed to show that the method is applicable and effective.
