Abstract:
A design of hydropower plant communication manager based on WinCE and IEC60870-5-104 protocol is introduced. The WinCE based serial programming technique, Ethernet programming technique and multi-thread programming technique are used to realize the communication between the communication manager, MOXA UC7410CE embedded industrial computer, with different devices via various protocols, such as DL/T645, CDT, Modbus, etc.. IEC60870-5-104 protocol is used to communicate with the monitoring computer. The frame structure of IEC60870-5-104 and its implementation in WinCE system are analyzed, and the flowcharts of sending and receiving procedures are presented. A method to manage multiple TCP client connections is also presented, enabling several host computers connecting to the communication manager and sharing data. The high reliability of the embedded industrial computer guarantees a long-term stable operation.
