Abstract:

A comprehensive review on the powder preparation, shaping and sintering, effects of stabilizer and codoping, aging of the conductivity, mechanical properties, compatibility with respect to electrode materials, preparation of thin film electrolytes and future development trends for zirconia-based solid electrolytes was given in this paper. Since zirconia-based solid electrolytes demand higher operating temperature, the preparation technology of thin film electrolytes and its effects on the properties of the solid oxide fuel cell will be the main research contents in the future. In addition, the sintering properties, mechanical properties and high-temperature aging resistant properties for zirconia-based solid electrolytes should also be further improved.
