Abstract:

Multiple shake table testing system (MSTS) is an important prospect for seismic performance research in structural engineering, especially for seismic performance studies for large span bridge engineering, lifeline engineering, large mechanical equipment, spatial structure and so on. Due to the capability of multiple earthquake excitations, the methodology and theory of the MSTS are different from that of single shake table test. Model construction and design, earthquake wave selection and recurrence, experimental process and earthquake damage analysis were discussed and the prospective methodology in using MSTS pointed out. This serves as a theoretical foundation for the methodology of using MSTS and would promote the development of the theory and methodology in studying the seismic performance of structures.
