Abstract:
The condensed polynuclear aromatic (COPNA) resin was synthesized using 1-naphthol as monomer and 1, 4-benzenedimethanol as crossing-linking agent in the presence of p-toluene sulfonic acid, and then allylated to prepare the allylic COPNA resin having the copolymerization reactivity with 4, 4-bismaleimidodiphenyl methane (BMI) to obtain high performance resin. Properties and preparation of the copolymer resin of allylic COPNA resin and BMI were studied in this paper. The chemical structures and rheological properties of the prepolymer were characterized by FT-IR and viscometer, respectively. The curing reaction of the prepolymer was studied by DSC. Moreover, TG-DTG was employed to study the thermal behavior of the copolymer resin. The results show that the prepolymer has good rheological properties and can be easily controlled during the curing reaction. Furthermore, the cured copolymer resin has good thermo-stability, as indicated by that its initial decomposition temperature arrives at 450C and the carbon yield reaches 53.6% at 800C in nitrogen.
