Abstract:
The steel tube of Concrete Filled Steel Tubular (CFST) structure will produce initial stress while in the processing of construction. Total of 4 CFST single circular solid arches under in-plane dissymmetrical loads are tested. The results indicate that the CFST solid arches have much the same load-displacements configuration and load-strains distributed disciplinarian with or without initial stress when subject to dissymmetrical vertical load. Vertical displacement is dissymmetry and horizontal deformation is toward to the arch springs of non-loading. The position of up and below border close to the loading region is compressive and tensile stress respectively, and reverses on corresponding to the area of symmetry. The presence of initial stress of CFST columns makes the compressive stress increasing, which leads to the phase of elastic-plastic appear ahead and yield earlier and fail. With the increasing of initial stress degree, the ultimate load carrying capacity of CFST single circular tube solid arch decreases.
