Abstract:
Carbon beads were prepared by direct pyrolysis of N-phenyl maleimide (N-PMI) modified novolac resin microbeads, and structure and electrochemical properties of the carbon beads were studied in this paper. The carbon beads were investigated through SEM and particle size analyzer. The structure of the carbon beads was characterized by XRD and specific surface area analysis, respectively. In addition, the constant current charge-discharge properties of the carbon beads were studied. The results show that the carbon beads possess fine sphericity and well dispersity. The first cycle charge and discharge capacity of the carbon beads decrease with increasing pyrolysis temperature. The carbon beads show good cycle performance as indicated by that the discharge capacity maintains over 80% of the first cycle discharge capacity after 20 cycles.
