Abstract:

The nonlinear output characteristics of photovoltaic cells, single-phase single-stage PV grid system's hardware topology and common maximum power point tracking (MPPT) control method are discussed. The fuzzy PID control method is introduced to the MPPT control for the shortcoming of traditional first-order-type MPPT control in the single-stage grid-connected power system. MPPT control block diagram of the system and fuzzy PID controller design process is given in detail. PSIM software-based simulation platform is built, and then the proposed control method is simulated and implemented on the experimental prototype finally. Simulation and experimental results show the feasibility and effectiveness of the scheme.
