Abstract:
A polypyrrole derivative containing electron donor-acceptor groups (PAPDBOBE) was synthesised. The chemical structures and properties of the polymer were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectrum (FT-IR), 1H nuclear magnetic resonance spectrum (1H-NMR), UV-Vis, thermogravimetry (TG) and cyclic voltammetry (C-V) spectroscopy. UV-Vis spectroscopy reveals the energy bandgap of PAPDBOBE is 1.51 eV. TGA indicates that PAPDBOBE decomposes at 165°C. C-V of PAPDBOBE electrode in the potential range from -1 V to 1 V is conducted in 0.1 mol LiClO4/1L acetonitrile (AN) solution. The result shows that peak potentials of the redox reaction are 0.52 V and -0.51 V, respectively.
