Abstract:
To investigate the effects of initial stress level and the strength of self-compacting concrete (SCC) on seismic behavior of columns, six concrete columns strengthen with SCC and two comparative columns were designed for low cyclic reversed loading tests. The initial stress level is 0.35, 0.5 and 0.75 respectively. Based on experimental studies on the failure process of columns and the stress-strain relationships of concrete and hysteresis curves of specimens, the co-operational performance of new-old concrete was presented. The bearing capacity, ductility and ductility factor decrease with the increasing of initial stress level.
