Abstract:
A cadmium(II)-imprinted polymer was synthesized by imprinting technique using Cd(II) as the template and carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCS) as the functional monomer. The prepared polymer was characterized by FT-IR, X-ray diffraction (XRD) and thermogravimetry (TG). The diffraction peaks of cadmium(II)-imprinted adsorbent become weaker and wider than those of carboxymethyl chitosan, and the thermal stability of adsorbent bonded silica gel is better than that of carboxymethyl chitosan. The uptake behavior of Cd(II) ions onto this sorbent was evaluated. The kinetic data can be fitted to the pseudo-second order equation. Adsorption process can be well described by Langmuir adsorption isotherms. The recoveries of water samples are about 98.0%~104.0%.
