Abstract:
Oolong tea is a semi-fermented Chinese traditional tea with strong refreshing taste and health benefits. With the development of oolong tea industry, its health functions are increasingly attracting the attention of the scientific researchers at home and abroad. Oolong tea and its components possess antioxidant activity, body weight control, anti-cardiovascular disease, antidiabetic, antimutagenic, anticarcinogenic, antiallergic, antibacterial and antiviral properties, as well as effects of regulating intestinal microflora, all of which are reviewed in this paper.
