Abstract:
Regular RC (reinforced concrete) 3D spatial frames with different transverse beam stiffness subjected to lateral loading were simulated in ABAQUS, which were designed strictly according to the Chinese code of 3rd aseismic grade. In order to reflect the real structure mechanical performance and the implementation effect of strong column-weak beam, a solid element was used to simulate the concrete of frames. On the basis of simulation and theoretical analyzation, a moment augment factor of column which took the influence of transverse beam stiffness in consideration was suggested and verified. The results shows that when the value of moment augment factor of column takes for 1.5, the implementation effect of strong column-weak beam principle can be well improved and only takes a few increase in the construction cost. Therefore, the recommended value of moment augment factor of column can be adopted in actual structural design.
