Abstract:
Marine algae is widely distributed, which contains high nutritional value. Antimicrobial substances extracted from seaweed has become the focus research. There is a great prospect for application. For the study of algae Schizochytrium meal enzymatic activity of the crude extracts, the optimal enzymatic hydrolysis conditions were determined for the recovery of the highest hydrolysates. The antibacterial bioactivities of the crude extracts were tested by inhibition zone method at the concentration gradient (120,100,80,60,40,20,0 mg/mL)with E. coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Salmonella strains. The results showed that algae Schizochytrium meal crude extracts had different antibacterial activities against E. coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella. Extract concentration at 80mg/mL, it was closely to 100% inhibition of action against E. coli and Staphylococcus aureus. The inhibitory effect on Salmonella was relatively weak to be 58% of inhibition rate when cultured for 12 h at concentration of 120 mg/mL. By comparison with non-enzymatic group, the inhibitory effect was mainly enzymatic extracts. © 2015, Editorial Office of Journal of CIFST. All right reserved.
