Yamasaki　Toyoko　is　not　only　skilled　in　describing　the　history　and　the　changes　of　times　through　human　destiny,　but　also　pays　attention　to　the　common　virtues.　From　the　Confucian　standpoint,　the　article　analyzes　the　characterization　of　Lu　Dezhi,　a　positive　hero　in　the　novel　Daichinoko.　Lu　Dezhi,　a　combination　of　benevolence,　justice　and　courtesy,　reveals　the　author＇s　approval　of　Confucianism　and　her　introspection　about　Japanese　Aggressive　War　against　China.
