Abstract:
Exchanging data in a standard format has long been the goal of e-commerce. EDI is an useful technology for the electronic exchange of structured documents between trading partners. However, EDI is expensive, complex and difficult to implement. In contract to EDI, XML, an emerging universal data exchange standard based on the Internet, has many advantages, and is more suitable for data exchange in c-commerce. In this paper, we'll give a brief introduction for the XML and the relevant key technologies. Then, combining XML with the key technologies, we have put forward a data exchange framework, which makes considerable improvements over the traditional data exchange model, for e-commerce. Finally, with the framework, we have implemented an online bookshop based on the Internet, and pointed out the further perfection for the data exchange framework.
