Abstract:
A novel lignin derivatives EH-lignosulfonate (EHLS) was prepared and its application as a superplasticizer (SP) in concrete was studied. The functional groups of EHLS were characterized by FT-IR analysis. A comparative experiment on the fluidity of cement with EHLS and traditional Lignosulfonate (LS, prepared from the black liquid of paper mill) was carried out Moreover, the water reducing rate and the compressive strength of concrete with EHLS were investigated. The FT-IR spectra show that EHLS contains many functional groups like hydroxyl, sulfonate and carboxyl, which leads to the adsorption of EHLS on cement particles. Due to the large adsorption amount of EHLS on cement surface, the water-reducing property and the adaptability of EHLS are superiors to that of LS.
