Abstract:
CFST-CSW structure is a type of newly-developed composite structure, in which the CFST members take the main actions and the CSW works as connecting components. This paper reports experimental studies on two CFST-CSW arches subjected to in-plane loading symmetrically or asymmetrically. The two supports of each arch were fixed on the ground. The load-deformation responses of both arches were recorded, including the strain development in steel tubes and corrugated steel webs under gradual loading. Both arches were found to fail in an in-plane mode well after the maximum strain in steel tube reached its yielding strain. The experimental results reveal the mechanical behavior of CFST-CSW arch. This is probablly the first experimental study on the mechanical behavior of CFST-CSW arch.
