Research　on　the　relationship　between　water　use　and　economic　growth　is　beneficial　for　the　sustainable　development　of　Jiangsu　province.　Based　on　IPAT　equation,　de-linking　methodology　was　used　to　describe　the　relationship　between　water　use　and　economic　growth　in　terms　of　the　statistics　of　13　municipalities　in　Jiangsu.　Results　show　that　water　use　and　economic　growth　are　in　weak　de-linking　state　for　most　of　the　years,　but　further　efforts　are　still　needed　to　fulfill　strong-delinking　for　sustainable　of　Jiangsu.
