Abstract：
An essentially disconnected coronoid system is defined as a Kekulean coronoid system which has fixed (single or double) bonds and has at least one hole. It is proved that the subgraph, obtained by deleting all the fixed single bonds and all the end vertices of the fixed double bonds, is disconnected, and has at least two normal components, which generalizes the result for essentially disconnected benzenoid systems by Gutman et al [4].
