Abstract:
We propose two schemes for the implementation of the universal quantum cloning machine in the ion trap system. The required experimental techniques are within the scope of what can be obtained in the ion trap setup. The experimental implementation of the schemes not only provides a test of fundamental aspects of quantum physics, but also is useful for quantum information processing.
