A　lead(II)　complex　[Pb(Hfysh)(2)]　(1)　(H(2)fysh　=　furan-2-ylmethylene　salicyloyl　hydrazone)　has　been　synthesized　and　characterized.　The　lead　atom　is　in　a　holodirected　eight-coordinated　polyhedron.　There　are　secondary　Pb-O　interactions　that　give　rise　to　a　novel　3D-diamond-like　coordination　network.　The　luminescent　property　of　1　in　the　solid　state　was　investigated.　(C)　2010　Elsevier　B.V.　All　rights　reserved.
